Alpine Lakes Cycle Path
BOHINKA
Two Lakes, One Scenic Journey
The Bohinka Cycle Path is a beautifully maintained cycling route that gently leads riders from Lake Bled, through the heart of the Bohinj Valley, all the way to the shores of Lake Bohinj. For most of the journey, the route follows the crystal-clear Sava Bohinjka River, born beneath the mighty peaks of the Julian Alps, flowing past alpine meadows and villages toward Bled and beyond. This emerald-green river forms a natural link between two iconic alpine lakes—true gems of unspoiled nature and one of Slovenia’s most treasured landscapes.

CURRENT UPDATE
Please note that the Bohinka Cycling Route is currently closed between Bohinjska Bela and Obrne (in both directions) until the 31st of August 2026, due to construction work. An officially signposted detour is available via the regional road, which connects Bled and Bohinj. However, we do not recommend using this route, as it usually has heavy motor vehicle traffic and is therefore not ideal for safe cycling.
